New Bohemia Solar Array

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources contacted Imperial Multimedia when searching for an interpretive solution for a new, grant funded, solar array installation in Cedar Rapids, IA.

As a provision of federal funding, the new solar array installation was required to include on-site interpretation that would be accessible to the general public.

Imperial Multimedia approached the project with a proposal for an outdoor, interactive software application housed in a vandalresistant custom enclosure that had recently proved itself in a three-year field study.

Imperial designed and delivered a touch-screen, interactive information display for the project that delivers interpretive information, alternative energy resource information, and real-time data on the performance of the solar arrays. The interpretive display has become the focal point of school group visits and visits by local and national leaders in business, education, and government.
